The Benefits of Dead Sea Mud

Dead Sea mud has been used for centuries to soothe various skin irritations and conditions. Now, grace & stella has made it available in a mask that you can apply from the comfort of your own home.

The benefits of Dead Sea mud are numerous, including:

  • Improving skin clarity by drawing out impurities such as dirt, oil, and dead skin cells.
  • Fighting acne with antimicrobial effects that attack acne-causing strains of bacteria.
  • Exfoliate dead skin cells and encouraging the growth of new skin cells, improving everything from acne to scars and fine lines.
  • Hydrating with high concentrations of fatty acids.
  • Deliver nutrients such as sodium, calcium, bromine, chloride, magnesium, and potassium, which help maintain skin health.
  • Softening and smoothing effects from sulphides and silicates.
  • Anti-inflammatory benefits for sensitive skin and even for skin conditions such as psoriasis.
And to boost the already amazing qualities of Dead Sea mud, we've added kaolin and shea butter to our formula. The former is a cleanser, exfoliator, and circulation-stimulating ingredient that's great for fighting acne. The latter delivers fatty acids and vitamins to the skin to help maintain moisture.

Plus, the Dead Sea Mud mask by grace & stella has its own particular benefits for the environment and our furry friends. It's vegan, cruelty-free, and all-natural, so there are no worries about any added or animal ingredients.

How to Use a Dead Sea Mud Mask

Of course, enjoying the benefits of Dead Sea mud means knowing how to properly use it. Using our Dead Sea Mud mask is as easy as following these 9 simple steps.

  1. Make sure your face is clean before applying the mask. Wash off your makeup and cleanse with a gentle cleanser. We suggest using warm water to open up your pores.
  2. If your Dead Sea mud mask has separated, make sure you mix it up thoroughly. You want to ensure that the salty seawater isn't separated from the mud.
  3. The skin around your eye is the most delicate and thin skin on your face. That means it requires a little extra love and protection. Apply a moisturizer around the eye area before applying the mask.
  4. Now for the fun part... start applying the mask in a thin layer. The amount you apply is key. Don't apply too much or the mud won't be able to dry and do its work.
  5. Use your fingertips to apply the mask. Gently massage your skin while you apply the mask and use only upward strokes.
  6. Avoid applying the mud to your upper lip area if this skin is sensitive or if you wax. You'll also want to avoid the eye area and ensure you don't get any mud in your eye.
  7. The mud mask needs to sit for 7 to 12 minutes. You'll know it's done when the mud has slightly dried or if it begins to crack and itch.
  8. If your mask takes longer than 15 minutes to dry, you've applied too much.
  9. To remove the mud mask, you can use a soft washcloth or simply splash warm water to soften the mask. The entire mask can be rinsed off using running warm water - just be sure to be gentle and never scrub it off.

How often you use your mud mask will depend on your skin type. Most people can use it twice per week while those with sensitive skin should only use it once per week.
